Airlive Aircam POE-200HD H.264 1.3 MegaPixel Dome Camera
Looking at the cables for the AirCam POE 200HD there are 6 in total. The RJ45 cable provides you network connectivity as well as power if POE is being used. If not you can connect the DC cable to the power adapter provided. The Mic and Audio cables are for audio input and out if you want to communicate back and forth (Speakers not included of course). The RS485 port (Green Port) is to connect the camera to a P/T Scanner.
As far as installing the AirCam POE 200HD goes, you first need to decide where exactly you need to cover for your surveillance needs and accordingly install the camera on the roof or ceiling. The wiring of the unit isn’t complicated however you might need a professional to do a neat job or you might end up with dangling cables all over the place.
Once the physical installation is done next step is configuring the camera through the network. For this purpose Airlive provides a small utility called IPWizard II. In addition to this Arilive also provide a copy of Cam Pro express which is a 32 Channels Surveillance System for all your monitoring needs. Basically it can support upto 32 cameras simultaneously.
Upon installing IPWizard II and after the camera is connected to your LAN it’s simply a matter of running IPWizard II which will automatically locate the AirCam POE 200HD on your network. By default the IP assigned to the camera is 192.168.1.100 however you can change this according to your LAN requirement.

Generally the wizard should detect the camera without you having to intervene, however in the unlikely event it does not, you can press the search button to locate the camera. The IPWizard II will show you the model of the camera model detected as well as related IP information needed to connect to the camera.
Next you need to open your favorite web browser and point it to the IP address the camera is assigned. In our case it is 192.168.1.100 however this will depend on your network. It’ll ask you for login information to access this page and the default username and password are listed in the user manual provided. Upon logging in correctly you’re offered with a webpage with the output of the AirCam POE 200HD being streamed live onto the webpage.
I was quite amazed to see the clarity of the picture quality the AirCam POE 200HD was capturing. Below are images taken just outside from our location and the detail it captures is quite outstanding.


One thing to note is that the
AirCam POE 200HD is only an indoor camera and not meant for outdoor use. It’s purely for illustration of the capture quality we decided to take the above pictures. Further the picture quality is slightly less than the original due to us having to reduce the image size for web usage.

There’s also a range of features the AirCam POE 200HD offers. Going into the settings section you can play around with all the features offered as shown below.

You can adjust the network settings, color/brightness/contrast etc, video compression, motion detection and even schedule for the camera to turn on/off and desired settings. Looking at the features offered Airlive certainly has done a splendid job with the AirCam POE 200HD and more importantly all features offered can be easily understood and configured with ease.
If configured correctly you can set the AirCam POE 200HD to send email alerts to a specified email account soon as it detects movement. You can also provide multiple users to access the AirCam POE 200HD web interface with various access level restrictions.
For the motion detection section, you can specify which areas you are most concerned of and start recording if it detects movement in the areas you specify. This can be quite useful if the camera is set to monitor a large area and you want to pin point certain locations.
