Test Setup and Benchmarks

ATTO Disk Benchmarks:

ATTO Disk Benchmark tool measures your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Here we can see the OCZ Agility 3 out performing both other reference drives by a significant margin.

PC Mark Vantage:

Here again we see the OCZ Agility 3 has a comfortable lead against the competition.
AS-SSD Benchmark:

AS-SSD has been developed by an indipendant german developer and this tool is gaining much popularity as it’s focused primarily on SSD performance. Here we see the Agility 3 loose out to the Corsair drive in the Sequential Read test by a small margin.
Real World Benchmarks – File Copy:

Regardless of all the synthetic benchmarks end of the day what actually matters from a user’s perspective is how fast the drive performs in daily tasks. The easiest way to measure this performance is to read and write data to the same drive simultaneously. There are many free utilities out there which you can use to copy files across which are much faster than using the standard windows copy function. We used a free tool called UltraCopier, but there are many others such as FastCopy, Teracopy etc which does the same job. We selected a total of 9GB worth of .mkv files of varying sizes taken from a HD video camera and copied them onto another folder on the same drive. (Note: Lower score is better)
