Mushkin 256MB PC3500 DDR SDRAM

Introduction

The requirement for high speed memory has never been as great as it is today. With AMD and Intel battling it out to reach supremacy in the CPU arena, other component manufactures need to keep a step ahead to be in competition. With the recent introduction of 166FSB AMD processors, the pressure is on for everyone else to ensure that their products don’t cause any bottleneck in the system. One of the most common bottlenecks in an average users’ system is its memory. Most of us tend to give very low priority to buying good memory modules when buying a new system and unfortunately expect their systems to perform like a super computer.

DDR memory came into the limelight only a few years back, and the growth it has gained is simply phenomenal. With the nForce2 chipset with its dual channel memory feature gaining much popularity among PC enthusiasts and PC 3200 memory becoming more of a mainstream product, memory manufactures are now releasing PC3500 DDR memory for the performance seekers.

Mushkin Enhanced Memory Systems (EMS) has been providing memory solutions to the PC enthusiasts for over decade now. In the early days Mushkin was one of the very few manufactures where users could definitely rely on the quality and performance of their memory products. The reputation they have built up has never seems to have been compromised one single bit even after all this time. Mushkin still remains one of the main memory giants producing high-quality high-performance memory modules.

Mushkin graciously accepted our request for one of their PC 3500DDR modules, so read on as we put these modules to the test. We received two 256MB modules for dual channel performance testing.
