The rear of the box features the technical specifications of the unit in detail and on the side of the box it gives a detailed explanation of all the cables included along with its purpose. It’s good that they have provided this information since the target market for this product is mainstream users and majority would not have clarity as to what goes where.

Opening up the box you’re greeted with the PSU unit, user manual, soft felt bag containing the modular cables, power cord, screws and some cable ties to tidy things up. Following are the connectors you are given by default:-

2 x 4+4-pin CPU
Video Connectors:          2 x 6+2-Pin PCI-E
Drive Connectors:           3 x Peripheral
6 x 5-pin SATA
1 x FDD (Who uses a Floppy drive these days? really I’d like to know 🙂 )

The MK3 comes equipped with an additional 6 pin socket than the provided modular cables so you can expand your rig in the future if the need arises.

The Silencer MK3 is one of the first or in fact the first PSU I have come across which has a complete white matt finish. I like the new look however the only drawback I can see to this however is that the PSU might standout if you have a black casing.

The side of the PSU has a sticker highlighting the model name adding some flare to the device. The rear of the device sports the power switch and main power connector. A honeycomb mesh design has been adopted to provide the best possible ventilation for the MK3 during heavy operation cycles.

Okay lets now see how well the Silencer MK3 works in real life.
