SecureDrive® BT – Hardware Encrypted External Portable Drive

Hardware encrypted drives have been in the market for a quite a while now. Most of them offer similar level of functionality with FIPS certification, AES encryption being some common features we see in these drives. Aesthetically too they share a commonality with an alpha numeric keypad to unlock the device. Have a read through our previous reviews on the Aegis Fortress and iStorage diskAshur2 if you missed those reviews. Today however we bring to you a game changer into this market, the SecureDrive BT.

The SecureDrive BT is a FIPS 140-2 Level 3 Validated, AES 256bit hardware encrypted portable drive. It’s important to understand the distinction between FIPS validated vs FIPS certified. FIPS validates means the drive has undergone full testing on all components by a NIST accredited testing lab. On the other hand, FIPS certified means only certain aspects of the product has been tested and approved. This is why SecureDrive proudly displays their certification on the website.
