It may have been sheer coincidence, but while searching for a smart security cameras for our home we came across the OMNA Wire-Free Indoor/Outdoor Camera Kit which D-Link graciously agreed to send us for review.

Having a decent surveillance system at your premises is definitely a great way to keep tab of what’s important to you while away from home, be it your kids, pets or valuables. Almost all camera systems available these days allow for remote monitoring capabilities which was a feature reserved for the higher end market segment in the past. One advice we would like to give homeowners when it comes to security is to resolve the problem in a multi step approach. While a good alarm system is great to be alerted for any movement in the house while you’re away, a security camera system will compliment the setup with video evidence.

The D-Link OMNA Wire-Free Indoor/Outdoor Camera Kit (DCS-2802KT) follows a new trend of wire free surveillance systems for home and office users. Arlo security cameras were one of the first to come up with wire free wireless cameras with a hub. It’s great to see D-Link following suite and at first glance D-Link says the OMNA Wire-Free Indoor/Outdoor Cameras would run for months on a single charge, offer motion detection, smart home compatibility and 1080p full HD video recording.
