HyperX Alloy FPS RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
HyperX Gaming does not require any new introduction in the gaming community. Few weeks back we reviewed their Alloy Core RGB gaming keyboard and Pulsefire Core RGB Gaming Mouse. Today we take a look at one of their heavy weights; the HyperX Alloy FPS RGB mechanical keyboard.
We have been reviewing quite a few mechanical keyboards in the recent past. If you missed out on our recent review of the Logitech G512 mechanical keyboard click here. The HyperX Alloy FPS RGB is a full sized 104/105 key mechanical keyboard. At the time of writing, every other mechanical keyboard offered by HyperX Gaming incorporates some form of Cherry MX switch. However, the HyperX Alloy FPS RGB uses Kailh Silver Speed mechanical switches from the Chinese switch maker Kaihua Electronics.
What’s impressive with these Kailh Silver Speed switches is that they are built with a short travel distance and light actuation force. Kailh Silver Speed switches have a total travel distance of 3.5mm, 1.1mm actuation point and 40 grams of force to actuate. With a lifespan of 70 million key presses these switches at least on paper looks better than their rival Cherry MX Speed Silver switches.
