Raijintek ORCUS 280 RBW AIO Liquid CPU Cooler

Raijintek ORCUS 280 RBW AIO Liquid CPU Cooler

Conclusion

The Raijintek Orcus 280 RBW has ticked most of the boxes for us as quite a decent AIO closed loop liquid cooler. Lets recap some of the good points. Installation of the cooler was definitely a breeze and we didn’t have any hiccups at all during the process. The included RGB hub with 8 ports (inlcudes additional ports for case lighting) is also a lovely feature. The rainbow lighting effects and the multitude of other lighting effects offered does make the Orcus 280 RBW quite a good deal for approx AU$200.

While there are other AIO setups out there that offers better thermal performance, the Orcus 280 RBW certainly isn’t a bad performer at all. Raijintek have managed to offer a middle ground where accustic performance and thermal performance blends nicely to provide an overal package that gamers will certainly enjoy.

One issue we couldn’t quite understand is the AIO pump is rated at 4500RPM +/- 10%, however our unit was working above 6400 R.P.M at all times. That would either mean the specs have changed and Rainjintek haven’t updated their data or something maybe unusual on our review kit.

In terms of warranty, Raijintek offers 2 years warranty on the Orcus 280. While this is ok, it would be nice to see them offering 4 – 5 years warranty on these products which we see these days with mainstream cooler manufacturers.

We do like the fact that Raijintek have experimented with the pump design which shows their willingness to explore the possibilities of AIO liquid cooling solutions. Howeverwe’re not much fans for them deciding to add a fill port on the CPU block. By the very odd chance it springs a leak you’ll end up with one expensive repair.

Nevertheless as an overall package, the Raijintek Orcus 280 RGB is an all round decent cooling solution that will meet the demand of most average gamers out there. Along with its RGB capabilities, the Orcus 280 RBW is a worthwhile kit to explore if you’re looking for a budget friendly AIO liquid cooler.
