Cooler Master MH752 Gaming Headset

Sound quality

We wanted to see how well the CM MH752 headset performs both in gaming as well as listening to music.

Firstly we booted up some of our favorite FPS games and given that sound quality can be quite subjective we compared the average results of 3 separate individuals.

One thing that was common across all tests is that there was a slight lack of bass. This does not construe to mean no bass, rather we didn’t feel that punchy deep oomph feeling which you get in some of the higher end headsets. Of course there will be slight limitations a 40mm driver in a closed back headset can deliver.

Mid and high ranges produced were very clear and pure and did not distort at all even at very high volumes. You could clearly hear conversations, foot steps and all important sounds that are essential when it comes to gameplay. If the default audio settings don’t suite, the software equalizer Cooler Master provides lets you tweak these settings to match your gaming style and taste.

The boom mic also proved to be worthy of the Cooler Master brand producing pitch perfect clarity during multiplayer gaming.

Next we tested the MH752 headset with some of our favorite music ranging from EDM, trance, and instrumental. In these tests we tweaked the equalizer from its defaults to match the type of music being played. The MH752 headset certainly came alive here and performed exceptionally well. When testing music we generally do not try to blast our ear drums; rather we keep the volume settings at a very nominal setting and see if the speakers are capable of reproducing the sound accurately.

While we do accept that there are certain limitations with a 40mm driver the MH752 headset was capable of reproducing the full audio spectrum flawlessly.

Conclusion

At just AU$119 the Cooler Master MH752 Gaming Headset offers amazing value for your money. From our experience the 7.1 channel surround sound works its magic in gaming and if you use the headset for movies. For music however it’s best to use the default stereo mode as the sound feels echoey when 7.1 surround sound is enabled.

We are quite impressed by the overall sound profile offered by the MH752 headset. Cooler Master markets the headset mainly for gaming enthusiasts and it ticks all the boxes of a good gaming headset; namely comfort, sound quality and portability. Even after hours of gaming the lightweight and flexible design of the MH752 ensured we didn’t feel any discomfort throughout.

The quick detachable design and fold flat ear cups makes it an ideal choice for users on the move. The Cooler Master MH752 gaming headset surprisingly is one of those products where we really can’t find any major flaws to talk of and if the AU$119 price tag fits your budget, we truly recommend giving them a go.
