The Gigabyte GeForce® GTX 1660 GAMING OC 6G earned a respectable 85FPS on 1080P and 63FPS on 2K resolution. At 4K resolution the card starts to struggle at the high resolution settings with 32FPS. However if you really wanted, you could scale down the image settings slightly to gain some extra FPS.
Again the GeForce® GTX 1660 has proved itself to be quite an impressive GPU. 1080P and 1440P both produced an impressive 81FPS and 58FPS. 2160P still proves too much for this card.
Healthy scores are seen again for 1080P and 1440P and with a little bit of overclocking the card could perform in the realms of the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti models. However I wouldn’t expect 4K performance to improve significantly to make game play enjoyable even after overclocking the card.
With solid performance in the 1080P and 1440P resolutions the Gigabyte GeForce® GTX 1660 GAMING OC 6G is certainly a card newbies to the gaming world could easily go with due to its low price.
Cooling performance
The 3 fan Windforce design along with the solid copper heatpipe design certainly seems to be working for the Gigabyte GeForce® GTX 1660 GAMING OC 6G. With full load the card was able to keep the temperatures sitting at 62C. The cooling performance of this card is certainly impressive.
Synthetic Benchmarks
The card performs well on the 3D Mark Fire Strike Ultra and Timespy tests which test out the card’s DirectX 11 and 12 capabilities respectively.
