D-Link DIR-2680 D-Fend AC2600 Wi-Fi Router
The DIR-2680 D-Fend AC2600 router package
I got to admit, the box the D-Fend AC2600 comes in is certainly quite large compared to most standard routers you’d buy at a store. It does look quite intimidating in a good way. Like most of D-Link’s products, their product packaging is quite exceptional. It’s certainly great to see so much detail being mentioned on the package that allows users to make sound purchasing decisions.
Opening up the box you’re offered with a user manual, quick start guide and underneath all that sits the DIR-2680 router. Almost every router I have used in the past has had a flat structure, however the DIR-2680 D-Fend AC2600 is the shape of a cube. The shape of it could pose a problem to some as it takes up more real-estate than a conventional router, especially for those who may have a rack space setup.
It’s certainly one of the most unique looking routers we have come across. No WiFi antennas are visible from the outside and only a single button rests on top of the router.
The D-Fend AC2600 comes with 3 x Gigabit Ethernet ports and 1 x Gigabit WAN port. There’s also a USB 3.0 port if you wanted to attach a USB drive which you can then use as a media server.
The D-Fend AC2600 router supports both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz WiFi simultaneously and supports MU-MIMO technology to ensure fastest Wi-FI service.
