Jaybird Endorphin Rush & Tiger Eyes

As mentioned before the Endorphin Rush includes a 10mm Neodymium driver and in effect should produce more bass than its smaller cousin Tiger Eyes. Neodymium magnets are used on many high performance speakers out there, so it’s certainly a welcome feature.
One of the main reasons people don’t use earphones during workouts or any outdoor activity is due to dangling wires. There’s nothing more annoying than having wires hitting your face or body every time you move. Jaybird has taken this into consideration and included a zipper-like feature to tighten the earphone cable behind your head.

With long term usage speaker diaphragms deteriorate and sound gets muffled and distorted. I’m sure some of you would have had first hand experience of this and when it does happen there’s nothing you can do but to change the speaker itself. With Jaybird’s earphones being targeted mainly to outdoor athletes who are exposed to rain, sun and sweat the chances of the speaker diaphragms deteriorating faster than normal is a very big possibility.

This is why the Endorphin Rush and Tiger Eyes feature a special titanium coating over the speaker diaphragms. Not only does this protect the speakers but it ensures the production of clearer, crisp and very natural sound.

Since Jaybird offers a lifetime warranty against damage due to sweat on their products, you can be assured these earphones will handle quite a beating. They’re so confident with their products that they offer a 60 day satisfaction guarantee, which means you can try them and return for a full refund if not totally satisfied. This is quite a bold move no doubt in these times, and Kudos to Jaybird for offering this.

Taking a closer look at the earphones you would notice the transparent ear buds. These fit in very well in your ear and in case you loose them Jaybird has included 5 more replacement spares. The spare ear buds would be an added hygiene benefit if you need to share these ear phones.

Sound Quality Endorphin Rush:

We tested the Endorphin Rush ear phones streaming music through Logitech’s Squeezebox. Jaybird’s Endorphin Rush truly keeps upto its word and actually does manage to release endorphins to your body through music. The sound quality is well balances with great acoustics.
It offers rich low bass with clear mids. The highs are not over rated which is a good thing as it can and will harm your ears in the long run if you’re a constant user of any type of earphone. It’s no doubt one of the best sounding ear phones I have come across and I love it over my Sennheiser headphones which I thought was great until the Endorphin Rush came out.

Sound Quality Tiger Eyes:

We went about setting up the Tiger eyes with our Squeezebox just as before. I’m not sure if our expectations were too high after listing to the Endorphin Rush, however we didn’t get the same type of feedback as we expected from the Tiger eyes. Of course since the speaker driver is smaller we didn’t expect it to perform as well as the Endorphins, nevertheless it would have been nice to have richer sounding bass and highs.

However the added benefit of the Tiger Eyes is that you can use it with your iPhone or any other mobile that accepts a 3.5mm stereo jack to listen to music as well as use it as a hands free kit. It includes a sound controller and mic. I like the feature where music fades out when receiving a call and fades back in once it ends. It adds a nice touch to the whole setup.
