OCZ DDR3 PC3-12800 AMD Black Edition Ready 4GB Dual Channel Kit
Introduction
I remember the times when overclocking wasn’t for the faint hearted and was actually reserved for the hardcore enthusiast. Most of the time it was a hit and miss kind of situation and if you really didn’t know what you were doing things always ended up bad. Present situation is much different to what it used to be. Everything seems to have moved light years ahead and overclocking your PC these days is very much a breeze. Considering the default speeds of CPU’s, memory and graphic cards these days overclocking really isn’t a necessity; however there’s some inner nerd in all of us that want to squeeze out the maximum juice our systems can offer and it’s no wonder this is an undying industry.
With the release of AMD’s latest “Black Edition” CPU’s and the release of the AMD “OverDrive” software (Click here to download) feature it has given users to easily overclock their systems provided a supporting motherboard is used (790FX/ 790GX chipset). OCZ have capitalized on this and introduced a special memory module kit called the OCZ PC3-12800 Black Edition Ready CL8 Dual Channel memory modules that are specially designed for maximum performance with the above configuration. When coupled with a supporting motherboard as mentioned above along with a AMD “Black Edition” CPU the AMD “OverDrive” software automatically detects the OCZ Black edition memory and downloads the appropriate profiles to run your system at its optimum setting. (For all the newbies out there, just make sure you have an active internet connection for the software to download the relevant files)
