For comparison purposes we used a thermalright SLK 800 and a Maxxpert water cooling rig. Sisoft Sandra burn in wizard and 3D Mark 2001SE were used to heat up the CPU. We ran both of these programs for a total of 30 minutes and took the final scores. Note the room temperature at time of testing was 18C.
Next we overclocked the CPU to 1700GHz and conducted the same tests as above.
Conclusion
From the test scores it’s obvious that the Aqualia water cooling kit isn’t exactly a top notch water cooling kit. The SLK 800 is a high end air cooled cooler, but the Aqualia kit wasn’t able to keep close to it either. However from what I can understand, the intended purpose of the Aqualia kit isn’t to make it the best performing cooler out there. It’s merely intended for users currently using air cooling an alternative choice which is quite cheap and considerably quieter. You could hardly here the Aqualia kit working and in fact I had to keep my ear close to the case just to make sure everything was working. This is where the Aqualia kit excels over the rest. The retail price for this unit is around US$119, which is quite cheap for a water cooling rig. If you’re a first timer thinking of switching to water cooling, this is probably the cheapest and safest piece of hardware you can get your hands on. It requires hardly any kind of installation and no modifications need to be done at all. Keep in mind however; this kit isn’t good for overclocking purposes. So if your intension is to overclock and still go with water cooling, you’ll have to opt for a higher end solution.
Overall, the Aqualia water cooling kit is a well designed unit, and if you want some improvement in its cooling performance, you could attach two bigger and powerful fans replacing the current ones in a DIY project. Performance wise, the kit did give out some decent results and for the average user this is more than perfect.
