Crucial 256MB PC 2100 DDR SDRAM

Benchmarks Cont’d

Next I further increased the FSB to 142, giving a total of 1260MHz. Furthermore I changed the memory performance setting from “Fast” to “Ultra”. Here are the results.

Crucial 256MB PC 2100 @ 142 FSB – CAS 2, Ultra

I most definitely know that both these modules could sustain well over the 150MHz bus, unfortunately however, the IWILL KA 226-R offers only up to 146FSB. Nevertheless I overclocked the CPU to 1314 (146 * 9) to squeeze out every bit of performance from the system.

Conclusion

Well let the results speak for themselves. As you can see, there’s hardly a considerable contrast in performance between these two modules. However once we receive the Soyo Dragon Plus I plan on updating this review with new benchmarks.

However from the above benchmarks we can clearly see that Crucial’s 256MB PC2100 module is rock solid when it comes to performance. Think about it, Crucial offers the modules at $179 which includes Free shipping as well. Even though the modules are so cheap, the great thing is that Crucial hasn’t compromised on quality of their product. Even at 146FSB the module didn’t show any signs of stress, which is good news for most overclockers. I’m pretty sure this module will perform above the 150FSB mark without any problems too. We tested the module in “Ultra” performance memory setting at 146MHz FSB as you would have seen in our testing, which clearly indicates that it will easily handle over 150MHz.

Lets look at the facts here people. The memory overclocks pretty darn well and it’s priced at a mere $179. Now how can anybody complain about that? We really do recommend this product to anyone out there on the look out for good quality DDR SDRAM. Even if you don’t plan on hardcore overclocking we’d still recommend these modules. For $179 bucks and with a Life Time Warranty how could it go wrong? It’s one of the most best valued products I had ever come across this year. I have been using this module for around 2 weeks now, before writing this review, and I have absolutely no complaints. They just seem to dance to any tune I play. Keep up the good work Crucial. I would also like to thank Sherry over at Crucial for supplying us with this unit.
