OCZ Micro BGA PC150 128MB SDRAM

In our reviews we want to make sure that we relate to everybody out there. Hardcore overclockers as well as mediocre users. So for those who don’t have access to a 1.2GHz Athlon, here are some test scores using a cheaper Duron 700Mhz processor. We did not go to extreme overclocking of the Duron, however the results are quite impressive indeed. Here too we compared the module to Mushkin’s Rev 3.

AMD Duron at 700MHz (Default) 100MHz FSB

OCZ Micro BGA PC150 128MB SDRAM

128MB Mushkin High Performance REV3 PC133 SDRAM

AMD Duron at 742MHz – 106MHz FSB

OCZ Micro BGA PC150 128MB SDRAM

128MB Mushkin High Performance REV3 PC133 SDRAM

AMD Duron at 756MHz – 108MHz FSB

OCZ Micro BGA PC150 128MB SDRAM

128MB Mushkin High Performance REV3 PC133 SDRAM

Well that’s all for the benchmarks folks. Now the question is “who’s the winner?”. Let the results speak for themselves. Up until 150MHz the Mushkin High Performance REV3 performs almost in par with the OCZ Micro BGA PC 150 module. However the Mushkin module stops to function from there onwards. In fact the OCZ Micro BGA PC150 128MB module goes onto work at 166MHz in CAS 2 memory setting without any problem at all. Now that’s performance people. I expected the module to reach around the 180Mhz mark, however that was not to be. It could have been some other component in the system failing, so if we do manage to get it over the 180MHz mark, we’ll be updating this review soon.
