SOYO 6BA+100 Motherboard

Pretty impressive scores isn’t it. So where exactly does the 6BA+100 stand in comparison to today’s boards. It may not place itself among the top-notch boards today, however its performance is quite impressive indeed. Nevertheless the biggest question we should ask here is, is all this worth the price. Well considering the fact that the board retails at US$ 100, I guess it’s worthy of consideration. The built in HPT 370 controller certainly is the main plus point for the board. Implementing the RAID feature sure does add a great deal of boost to your system.

However there are a few things you shouldn’t overlook in the event you decide to buy the 6BA+100. We mentioned earlier the limitations of the BX chipset. If you think you can live with them, in that case this certainly is a excellent board. Another fact is that this board is limited to 155MHz FSB. Most new processors are capable of going beyond this figure, so that too should be looked upon. Nevertheless the 6BA+100 includes some of the best features we have ever come across in BX boards. Not only is the board extremely stable in Overclocked conditions, it offers the new ATA/100 standard as well as a RAID feature, all this built into the board.

We have used many BX boards in the past, but I must say the 6BA+100 is certainly the best performer out of them. Kudos goes to SOYO for taking a great effort to keep the quality of BX boards going even at these times. In conclusion I’d like to say that the 6BA+100 performed incredibly well in all our tests. While it’s unlikely that SOYO will release a newer version to out smart this board, we can be sure that the 6BA+100 will remain in the market for many more years.
