The Board
Hmmm another GF2 GTS. I think I’m suffering from a hangover with GeForce2 GTS ringing in my ears! Yup, that sure is what’s going on right now, with me fiddling around with these four boards day in & day out for the past two days. Anyway.
So the card comes clocked at default clockspeeds and is green in color. (Sorry folks, my digital camera just packed up, probably due to the extra usage!! and I couldn’t take a snap of the board. I’ll add the picture as soon as I get it running) Not very different to any other GF2 GTS card though. A stock heat sink/fan combo cools the chip. There is no TV-out and the optional Video In/Out Module will cost an additional 40 bucks. (You can pre order it at the Elsa site)
The module includes
- One Video module
- Connector cable, S-video-in/out
- S-video composite signal adapter
- All necessary tools for the installation
- Installation Guide
- MainActor v3, full version
- Driver, tools and detailed manual on CD
Overclocking
Even with stock cooling and without any RAM sinks the Gladiac performed exceptionally well. The memory would go right up to 400MHz and the core up to 240MHz. The temperature was at 126 F. Considering the fact that this board has no extreme cooling solutions to help in the jazzing up of the clocks, I wonder how far a couple of heat sinks & kick ass cooler would take the Gladiac?
Pros:
- Great overclocking potential
Cons:
- Another 40 bucks for the Video in/out module
- Kinda poor cooling that uses the basic reference design.
So the winner of this great battle for supremacy is———————————–>read on
