3dfx Voodoo5 5500
The 32-Bit rendering that the Voodoo5 5500 now supports is something that was much anticipated by die-hard 3dfx fans. Since most other manufacturers are already in there second generation of graphics cards with this feature it was high time that 3dfx didn’t disappoint their avid fans any longer. The Voodoo5 will give you enough performance to suit your most 3D gaming needs. So how useful is the FSAA feature? Well that purely depends on your gaming needs. If you play games like NFS or Flight simulators then FSAA is a very nice feature to have. But in a game like Quake III where the need for raw speed is high the FSAA will hinder performance to an unacceptable level. The Voodoo5 5500 is a good 3D card overall but is not a class winner like what it’s predecessors were.
Pro’s
- FSAA quality
Con’s
- Slower than the Geforce 2 GTS cards.
