MidiLand S4 8200 5.1 Surround Sound Speaker System
Front and Rear Satellites:
3-inch full range cones. Each satellite has an output of 20 watts R.M.S.
Each satellite is magnetically shielded, so needn’t worry about placing
these speakers besides your monitor or TV.

Subwoofer:
6.5-inch cones which provide the low frequency output is a class of its own. The woofer itself rests in a well-enclosed MDF cabinet. The Subwoofer has an output of 100 watts R.M.S. This champagne colored, magnetically shielded sub truly does give out a great punch. If you ever wanted to get a good body massage then here’s your chance; have the sub close to you and it will literally pump blood through you body.

Impression on Audio Reproduction
Well, I have heard some say this ain’t as good as the VideoLogic DigiTheatre system, but as far as I’m concerned I feel this is really a great deal for your money. To my view Midiland has really paid much attention to detail in this system.
The most outstanding piece of hardware in this speaker system is its subwoofer; with 100 watts of shear raw power as I said before it’ll blow your head off. (However make sure you’re in a well-enclosed area or you just might drive someone insane). To see how well this sub withstands heavy volume we ran it through a series of tests, and frankly I was really very impressed. We played the movies “Matrix” and “The Rock” since I believe these movies really work the sub to its max, and even in really very high volumes the sub did not distort at all, and if it’s power you want power you’ll get. I doubt you’d ever want to go pass the half way volume mark, as this 100watt sub will just knock your socks off. What’s most amazing is that even at the half waypoint this sub punches more bass than most other systems would at maximum volume. Overall I believe the sub performed incredibly well; the bass was beep and impactful and the bass produced felt true, not like any cheap sub you’ll get in the market.
As far as the treble and midranges go they are produces be five 3-inch woofers. It’s sad to see MidiLand didn’t give much thought to the 5 satellites as much as they did for the sub. The fact is none of these satellites have high frequency tweeters, they are just mid range cones. However they are not as bad as anyone would say they are. The satellites are quite efficient and well balanced; though the only problem is that you won’t get that real crisp sound a good tweeter would give. This becomes very evident when you play audio CD’s. However considering the fact that the VideoLogic DigiTheatre system is as twice the price of MidiLand’s S4 8200, I would say it’s a great bargain.
