Like all OCZ products the Solid 2 Series SATA II SSD drives are offered in a very sleek box in which the Solid 2 Series SSD drive is placed in padded enclosure. OCZ also provides an installation manual along with warranty info in case you need to look it up. The packaging is very informative and elegant and provides adequate details for a buyer to make a sound decision.
The drive itself isn't any different to a standard SSD drive and you can see the standard SATA 2.0 and power port along with a jumper for flashing the firmware if you need to do so.
The underside of the drive hides the NAND flash memory and controller chips. You could open this part up to reveal the insides, however note that this will void your warranty. Installing the Solid 2 Series SSD drive is pretty straight forward and can be installed on any standard laptop of desktop. Since the drive also supports RAID you could get two or more of these drives to make a pretty decent storage setup.
Pretty pictures don't tell the full story so lets see how well the Solid 2 Series SATA II SSD 120GB drive performs in real life. For testing purposes we will use a standard set of tools which we always use for hard drive testing and testing was done on a fresh copy of Windows 7.
