Introduction

Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices aren’t something new, however they’re gaining much popularity among the SOHO and SME market. Prices for these devices can vary from a couple of hundred dollars to a few thousand, all depending on performance and features offered. There are many manufactures out there who are producing NAS devices and Synology Inc. is one well within the forefront among the competition.

Today we look at one of their NAS solutions, the DS207. Looking at Synology’s product range the DS207 seems to be their medium range product targeted towards the SME market. Even if you don’t belong to this category I’m sure this product will still interest you by far. Having seen many NAS products out there, Synology seems to produce some of the most feature rich NAS solutions. The DS207 supports features such as being able to act as a Web Server, FTP server, iTunes serve, Photo Server as well as support Active directory integration, Network backups and many more.
