Introduction
When we think of performance heatsinks Zalman Tech is not the first company that'll come to any ones mind. It wasn't until recently that Zalman was able to enter the exclusive performance cooler market, and by seeing the way things are moving right now, this company seems to have a great deal of potential.
Since processor manufactures seem to be on a rampage to beat the GHz barrier, cooler manufactures on the other end are coming up with wacky solutions to keep these power hungry monsters at the lowest possible operating temperatures. The cheapest trick these guys do to overcome this problem is to add high performance cooling fans into ordinary coolers. Of course this method works like a charm, however the only down side to this is that, your PC now sounds more like a jet engine rather than any normal computer. I remember the time when I got my first high end Celeron cooler. It had two 7000RPM fans fitted onto a monstrous looking cooler, which needed special attachments just to keep it in place. The sound was absolutely deafening and I say this with no exaggeration what so ever.
Sound is one of the biggest headaches we cannot overcome when it comes to high-end cooling. Unless you opt for water cooling or use specialized cooling equipment such as the Prometeia cooling system we reviewed a few days back, high noise is something we simply cannot overcome with air cooling. Well at least that was the way things were until Zalman came into the picture. Zalman Tech has come up with this very innovative cooling design that requires a bare minimum of active cooling.
What's included in the package
The package comes in a well designed box with a transparent shell on top. This is without doubt one of the weirdest looking coolers, nevertheless opening up the box and taking a close look, you can't help but feel that this cooler might have some potential as a high-performance cooler. Alright before getting into any more detail here's what's included in the box;
1. CNPS6000cu cooler 2. Fan bracket 3. Two CPU attachment clips 4. Thermal Grease 5. Adjustable Fan Speed Connector (Fan Mate 1) 6. 92mm cooling fan 7. Heatsink Installation Tool (Clip Mate)

Features - Zalman's CPU Coolers do not generate noise and vibration in Silent Mode.
- Separation of the FHS from the CPU fan prevents transfer of the fan's vibration to the CPU.
- By utilizing a 92mm fan, both the CPU and the motherboard chipset are cooled.
- The cooling fan can be mounted at any desired location, making it compatible with virtually all computer cases and motherboards (Note: computer cases that have the power supply covering the CPU can not be used).
- With the included adjustable fan speed connector, the user can freely adjust the CPU fan's RPM.
